1. 3 Correct Cleaning Methods: From Routine Maintenance to Micropore Depth Restoration

1. Routine maintenance: Effectively use the equipment’s built-in comprehensive cleaning system (once a week)

Filtration Machines 'Cleaning agent + ultrasonic + backwash' comprehensive cleaning system is the main means to prevent clogging of ceramic filter plates.

There are 3 key parameters that need to be observed during operation :

Operation sequence:

First ultrasonic pretreatment → then soaking in cleaning agent → finally backwash

(Wrong order will reduce the cleaning effect of the ceramic filter plate)

Specific parameters:

Ultrasonic power 300–500 W (15 minutes, remove surface deposits)

5% cleaning agent solution, temperature 30℃ (soak for 20 minutes to dissolve scale and pulp residue)

Backwash pressure 0.2–0.4 MPa (10 minutes to flush out residual solution and impurities)

Dosage control:

The amount of cleaning agent is calculated strictly based on 0.5 kg/㎡·h.

Too much will corrode the pores of the ceramic filter plate, and not enough will not completely remove the blockage.

If the outlet water is still turbid after backwashing, check the pressure or replace the cleaning agent solution (contamination of the solution will reduce the cleaning effect).

2. Deep recovery: Soaking cleaning method (1-2 times a month, used when blockage is serious)

When the built-in cleaning is ineffective and the ceramic filter plate absorbs slurry unevenly or does not absorb slurry at all, soaking in cleaning agent can effectively restore the micropore permeability.

Key controls: concentration, temperature, time.

Solution preparation:

Cleaning agent concentration 5–8% (too low a concentration will slow down cleaning, and too high a concentration will damage the ceramic filter plate)

Temperature 40–50℃

Soaking process:

Completely immerse the removed ceramic filter plate in the solution for 2–4 hours (extended to 6 hours for severe blockage), stirring once every hour.

Finishing treatment:

After soaking, rinse with clean water until pH=7 (test with test paper) to avoid corrosion of metal parts of the equipment.

Then dry and check the micropore permeability. If there is no obvious blockage, it can be reinstalled.

3. Final plan: timely replacement (quantitative judgment criteria)

If the ceramic filter plate has been used for a long time and the slurry suction effect is still poor after the first two levels of cleaning, it needs to be replaced with a new plate.

Pulp suction efficiency:

The processing volume dropped by more than 50% within 3 days, and there was no improvement after cleaning;

Surface condition:

The ceramic filter plate is cracked, damaged, and the sealant is aging;

Service life:

Exceeds the recommended lifespan ( 18 months for alumina plates and 24 months for silicon carbide plates; it can be replaced 3–6 months in advance under severe working conditions).
